Yes, I am an animal person. I am happy to admit it. ^_^
In my younger years, I was brought up to think cats were not good pets to have, especially indoors. Several people around me often would tell me that they smelled really bad and that they were dirty. That was not true at all! That comes from someone who is brought up around dirty neighborhoods and when stray cats are hungry they will go through the dumpsters and of course they smell like what they crawled into. That doesn't mean a nice bath will remove it all just like for us. Stray dogs, cats, and humans- yup even humans stink if they don't bathe. That is just how it is.

When I got married, we moved to San Diego, California for some time and that meant being away from my loved ones. I was lonely when my husband went to work, so he decided to gift me a rabbit to keep me company. I love animals! I am a nurturer. What can I say.
As time went on, I realized I needed more than a bunny to keep me company because they are not very trainable and they are limited to interaction. They are not like cats or dogs, and I did not feel right keeping them from digging and doing things rabbits do in their natural environment. So we took him to a local pet store so he could be adopted.
Michael- my husband, had cats growing up, and he thought having a cat would be a good idea. I was reluctant and hesitant to consider it, so while I was in school in Los Angeles (two hours away) he decided to go to a local animal shelter looking for a cat to rescue. I had no idea what he was doing until he had signed the paperwork to get her spayed and get all the shots and everything squared away.
Mother I am so sleepies.
We go to the shelter to pick her out after the surgery and it was love at first sight for me and her. Her...my little critter bug. My companion and guardian. My baby...Cloud. Eight years later, we are best of buddies, and have been since 2008.

It's spring time... officially! How exciting!
Flowers everywhere are blossoming.
In my usual walk on the beach I am noticing all kinds of critters taking in the sun light and warmth.
Sea lions are happily barking and basking in the sun. Seagulls and crows alike flying through the coast with the immense abundance of food everywhere. Happy times for everyone and you can feel it in the air.
Even the surfers were out and about in groups. It is the California life!
Who says I have to keep wearing dull colors?
It is one of the rare times you will see me with so many colors at once. I like to be monochromatic, but it is spring!! Time to get living!

Are you getting pinched today? Not us.
As you all might now, here in the USA, we have this holiday, and I don't really know where we got the whole idea that we are "supposed to" pinch each other if we don't wear anything green, but that is what we do.
People get pretty into it. You will see teachers and ladies at the offices in schools or the cafeterias with earrings and/or nails that show off the holiday spirit. I remember thinking it was a lot of work to have to do all that nail coloring. That was when I was very young in elementary school and didn't know SOMEONE else did all that nail "coloring" for you.
Now I also decorate my nails on occasion to do something festive. I kept it simple.
Even doing a flashmob dance for it with my fellow Zumba-mates at the city planning building.
I know it doesn't look like many of us, but it was a good size group going down the hallway.
I wouldn't go as far as to make my whole day devoted to this holiday by making cupcakes or meals for it, but if a holiday happens to land on a weekend, I would. Simply because there is more time for others to see my work, and I can show off a little. ^_^
Living in such a wet place SCREAMS green. I am surrounded by green. Mountains, forest, green lawns, everything right now is green!
Watch out for pinching. Fendora

Being a big sister is a lot of hard work.
You probably don't know this, but I am one of 6 kids in my family, (five girls and one boy) and being the second oldest, is not an easy thing. With hair, makeup, and clothes, and time in the shower to shave and do all the things girls do to get all dolled up, it was always a struggle growing up in my parents home.
I guess I decided to write today because I am feeling homesick. I have been feeling in need of sister bonding time. We are almost all grown up and our schedules are busy or because some of them are now parents, they happen to have a different- more limited lifestyle in regards to time.
Never the less, I still miss family life. Piggy back rides, playing in the pool, picking on each other, and fighting for the restroom and who got to shower last. Endless upon endless conversations until late in the night, sometimes until one of us fell asleep while being talked to. I miss those good old days.
As one of the older sisters I was always helping mom raise my siblings and I gladly did it even though I often got the short end of the stick. I remember on one occasion, my oldest sister broke the stereo and my mom asked my sister and I "Who broke my stereo?" and my sister said "I did." and mom deliberately looks at me and yells "Ceci! You broke it! It was you!"and my oldest sister just laughed at the whole situation while I got a pinch on my tricep as I looked at her angrily for laughing. It was pretty messed up, and actually I had to laugh too, pain and all because I was like... What kind of crap is this where I get blamed for something even though the culprit already confessed? and now I have a throbbing arm. Yeez!
The sun was in my eyes.
Sometimes you think about things from the past and now in retrospect, I can laugh it off. Family times were the best, but I could have foregone the pinches. Do you have any memories of being blamed for something you didn't do growing up?
Remember to love your siblings. Fendora

Human Grooming. Also known as, spa day.
Since the rain continues, and there is not much going today, I decided to make the best out of this Saturday afternoon by doing some good old human grooming.
You know you usually end up catching up on chores and errands during Saturdays, but things are taken care of and I need to get my mani and pedi done. I am feeling inspired by spring.
First I started by doing a Dead Sea Mud Mask which I thought was wonderful and it smelled so lovely. My husband got it for me last Christmas, so I decided to give it a try today.
I waxed my facial whiskers and my uni-brow area, because well let's face it, we don't want that. ^_^ I use an at home warmer from Sally Beauty Supply and the Facial Honey wax for delicate skin.
Did a manicure and pedicure, and after that hand and feet exfoliation. For soaking the feet I used a coconut oil and salt mixture to exfoliate (scrub it in). Did the same for my hands and rinsed with warm water.
So now I get to just enjoy the evening catching up on some episodes of Downtown Abbey, and drinking some coffee. I know it is not the kind of show to drink coffee to, but I like coffee better than tea, and that's O.K

Sometimes there are days where you feel like doing nothing and being all cozy in bed and it certainly makes for unexpectedly active days. Rain and all.
Starting the day with a home made breakfast. This morning? Eggs with bacon, and a banana.
Then off to the beach for a morning walk, rain and cold and all, but it wasn't as crazy as it has been 3 days ago. Some times I feel like there is something going on with the weather because we will have non-stop rain and wind gusts for days and then it will be pleasant and sunny and beautiful the next day even though the weather forecasters claim it will be raining the whole week... What do you do? Sometimes I don't want to go out in the crazy cold and rain, but other times, it's like... you know what? I need to just live life, rain or not because the weather is going to be all over the place regardless.
Time to come indoors again, and enjoy a nice shower, and a cup of coffee. Mmm. So creamy and delicious. It hits the spot.
Then going through some boxed items and stuff in the house to donate so we can help the community and also to keep the house a bit clutter free. I do take care of my stuff so even when I don't need something or don't want something, it rarely becomes trash. It is good to recycle or donate gently used items to those communities that need it most.

Today was kind of a strange, but beautiful out on the beach.
This was early in the morning. Nice and sunny and relaxing.
So, if you don't know, I live by the beach. Yes, I am a California girl and that means walks on the beach are a must. So I went on one of my almost daily walks and the sea was violent, yet beautiful. So it started getting cloudy later in the day. Very overcast and with rain in the distance. Strange things happening.
The rainy weather is here this week and I mean all week! That means the sea will get crazy with big crashing waves that make it hard for tourist and also for locals to do anything in the water. No surfing anytime soon I guess. We are expecting over 2 inches of rain. That is a lot in one day.
The waves started to get crazy big and as the tide came in. I kind of feared a tsunami, but only for a second.
And then I see this in the sky. A halo around the sun! OR the all seeing eye? Ha ha.
What is that about? Time to check it out on good old Google search engine. Does anyone know what that is? Is this something you have seen before yourself? What was your reaction to it, and did you go paranoid thinking it was something cool or crazy? or perhaps both?
You never know what you are going to find outdoors. Fendora

Good morning! I was making homemade yummies.
I have been wanting to make some pizza bites for a while and last night I got a chance to make them.
Simple ingredients in everyone's pantry.
Use some egg-wash to coat the crust.
These are great for kids or portion control.
Larger one like a calzone size. Adult size meal.
You can stuff these with anything you want. You can make fruit bites or pizza bites like I did here. For me I just went with plain cheese and pepperoni. I made a large one to show it like a calzone style and the crust came out super flaky like a pie because I wanted that in my pizza bites.
They are warm, and delicious. Fendora
